description
Specially made for one of the most celebrated pop icons of the modern era, this incredible amethyst and diamond-studded pendant was once owned by Prince. The bespoke necklace is a take on Prince's iconic "Love Symbol," the unpronounceable glyph that the musician famously took as his stage name from 1993 until 2000. A blend of the ancient symbols for man and woman, it has come to represent not only a fluid sexuality, but also the triumph of harmony over conflict.
Though the symbol only served as Prince's name until 2000, the motif had become so iconic that he continued to use it in his jewelry, his album artwork and even as the form for his guitar. This pendant represents another iteration of the symbol. Crafted of 14K white gold, it was worn by Prince on stage during his concert performances in the mid- to late 1990s. The impressive piece is set with an amethyst cabochon totaling 14.00 carats, while 19 pavé-set round diamonds adorn the lower portion of the design. As a whole, it exemplifies the unique creativity of this incomparable pop icon.
This important necklace is accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Prince's former wife Mayte Garcia.
