    description
A beautiful total adder cash register by the National Cash Register Co. of Dayton, Ohio. This fine register features a nickel-plated brass case decorated in the company's dolphin motif, a highly-desirable pattern created for NCR by Tiffany & Co., and rests upon a fine wooden base. Fifteen keychecks allow for easy entry of purchase totals, which are tabulated by the "total adder" mechanism inside, which features a single dial for overall sale amount for the day, plus a second dial that keeps track of the number of sales for the day. A specialized key allows both counters to be reset for the next business day. This particular model, the #321, features a larger cash drawer with six coin and three bill compartments. The retention of its original top sign and excellent condition make this NCR register a treasure for collectors of Americana.

The plaque on the register is marked with the model number "321" and the serial number "674000" which, according to NCR records, dates this wonderful register to October, 1908.
