Ellicott's creations are considered the finest English timepieces of the 18th century, and his exceptional workmanship earned the artisan the appointment as Official Clockmaker to King George III.

    The mechanism is signed "Ellicott / London", indicating this clock was created during Ellicott's 12-year partnership with his son, Edward. Circa 1820.
