    description
This exceptional Russian pattern cut glass pitcher embodies the tremendous level of craftsmanship and creativity for which the American Brilliant Period was known. The dazzling form is blanketed in the deeply cut and highly polished pyramidal stars and strawberry diamonds that are hallmarks of this motif. The dynamic design earned its moniker Russian after it was ordered by both the American ambassador to Russia and the Russian ambassador to the United States in 1881. Today, it is considered among the most famed of all cut glass patterns.
