description
One of nature’s rarest treasures, this 5.25-carat natural fancy pink diamond displays a pure pink hue. The stone is certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) as being a rare Type IIa diamond, meaning that it contains no nitrogen, and boasts a brilliant optical transparency. The result is a gem of remarkable radiance that, thanks to its modified brilliant cut, appears even larger than its actual carat weight.

The Type IIa rating places this extraordinary gem in the company of diamonds from the famed Golconda mine, which has produced some of the finest diamonds in the world. Already a rare grading - less than 2% of all gem diamonds are classified as Type IIa - it is even rarer for pink diamonds to earn the highly coveted grading. In fact, only a handful of Type IIa pink diamonds are known to exist in the world; two others, the famed Darya-i-Noor and Noor-ol-Ain diamonds, are part of the Iranian Crown Jewels.

Pink diamonds are counted among the most precious and desirable gemstones in the world today, and both their rarity and popularity are reflected in recent market trends. In 2015, five out of the ten highest prices achieved at auction for diamonds and gems were claimed by pink diamonds, with the highest bringing over $28.5 million. Yet, stones of this extraordinary quality and beauty remain scarce. To find a pink diamond of such singular hue, clarity and overall quality for its size is simply extraordinary.

This enchanting gem is set amidst 65 micro-pavé white diamonds totaling 1.88 carats, the perfect complement to the pure pink color of the center stone. Thirty-four additional fancy pink diamonds totaling 0.25 carats further adorn the handmade platinum and 18k rose gold band.
