Moser
Circa 1890

This exceptional Moser glass jardinière and stand represents some of the firm’s most desirable work, defined by its sculptural applied birds and rich enamel decoration. Crafted in luminous yellow Vaseline glass, the design reflects one of Moser’s signature late 19th-century motifs, where finely modeled birds animate fields of oak branches and acorns. To find a design of this quality in such a complex two-part form is exceptionally rare.

The jardinière presents a striking bird of prey, sculpted in relief and perched on a gilded oak branch, surrounded by finely painted and enameled leaves and applied, partially gilded acorns. The stand complements the composition with an applied parrot on a similar branch, continuing the naturalistic theme. Both are adorned with delicately rendered insects on the reverse.

Founded by Ludwig Moser in the 19th century, Moser quickly rose to international prominence for its unparalleled craftsmanship and artistic innovation. Encouraged by the Austro-Hungarian government and refined through early work in Karlsbad, Moser developed a distinguished clientele that included royalty and global dignitaries. Renowned for combining technical brilliance with imaginative design, the firm remains synonymous with the highest standards of luxury Bohemian glassmaking.
