This wonderful lap desk, crafted of fine rosewood, features a leather-trimmed writing surface and custom storage units. Fitted with a working lock and original key, this handsome writing box includes ample interior compartment for inkwells, writing instruments and letterhead.The highly detailed brass inlaid Victorian box makes a regal statement with its impressive scale. Fine writing boxes such this was an item of style and fashion, but it was also an item connected with intelligence, commerce and world awareness. Excellent condition.
