This marvelous Wedgwood jasper dip bas-relief jug displays the rare and highly prized crimson color. This rare vessel features an applied white jasper neoclassical decoration of grapevines bordering the rim, while classical figures populate the entire frieze. Jasperware is one of Wedgwood's crowning achievements and is highly acclaimed for revolutionizing ceramic art. Crimson jasper pieces were only created for a short period of time by Wedgwood during the 1920s, and they are highly collectible.
