This beautiful jasper dip creamer and sugar bowl set is the work of the famed Wedgwood, and exhibits the company's rare crimson hue. Crafted in the classical taste, both pieces in this elegant set are adorned with white classical figures applied in relief, a motif which is considered to be Wedgwood's trademark. Jasperware is one of Wedgwood's crowning achievements and is highly acclaimed for revolutionizing ceramic art. Crimson jasper pieces are among the rarest of all jasper dip ware, and cancommand as much as 10 times the price of blue jasper dip items. This color was only used for a short period of time by Wedgwood during the 1920s, and beautiful pieces such as these are highly collectible.
