This fascinating English jockey scale was made by Young's of London, the most famous maker of jockey scales of the 19th century. It is crafted of solid oak and features a tufted leather seat, rope-twist legs and a built-in brass scale balanced by a full set of solid brass weights. These wonderfully designed scales were used at English horse tracks to determine the jockey's weight before and after a big race. A fantastic piece of horse racing history, this scale is in excellent condition.
