This beautiful Tiffany & Co. sterling silver serving tray modeled in the sophisticated English King pattern is a distinguished example of American silver at its finest. First made by Tiffany in 1885, the ornate design, which features a stylized Greco-Roman shell and acanthus leaf motif, was based on a variation of a traditional 18th-century French pattern. Though versions of English King have been made in electroplate by virtually every major silverware manufacturer in the United States, Tiffany's version was the only one to be crafted in sterling silver. In the center of the tray is the engraved monogram "JKV."
