An exceptional 208-piece Tiffany & Co. antique sterling flatware service for 12 in the highly desirable Chrysanthemum pattern, nestled in its mahogany chest. Introduced in 1880, the Chrysanthemum pattern is considered among Tiffany's most beautiful and luxurious designs. The brainchild of renowned designer Charles T. Grosjean, the motif incorporates traditional baroque shapes with a modern, natural motif. Chrysanthemum quickly became the most highly prized and luxurious of all Tiffany patterns, and a particular favorite among new brides, even though it was one of the most expensive to produce. To find a set in such complete, pristine condition is truly exceptional.

The dinner and lunch cutlery blades for this service were crafted and marked by the London firm of Joseph Rodgers & Sons, the official cutlers to Her Majesty, Queen Victoria. Each piece in this service is marked "TIFFANY & CO/STERLING/PAT. 1880" with the date letter "M" for the directorship of Edward C. Moore (1869-1891).

Paul Storr was considered the finest silversmith of the late Georgian period, known for perfecting the works, styles and designs of the Regency period. Storr received commissions from royalty and nobility, creating incredible pieces that graced the dining rooms of castles, manors and chateaus throughout Europe. This rare sterling silver soup tureen, complete with matching underplate, was created especially for the Monteith family of Scotland and would have held a commanding place at the center of the dining table.
