A magnificent Ouverture cylinder music box crafted by the firm of B. A. Bremond of Geneva, Switzerland. Capable of playing an entire overture (which was almost twice as long as other music boxes), with many more notes, these ouverture boxes were considered the finest made, especially those crafted by B.A. Bremond and Nicole Freres. This beautiful example plays six overtures on a two-piece comb and is equipped with levers that command "change/repeat" and "stop/play" functions. The superb rosewood case is enhanced by ebonized borders and a lovely brass and pewter inlay with polychrome lacquer decoration on the lid. The sound quality is simply amazing and the overall quality is exceptional.
