Encased within a beautifully inlaid hardwood box, this rare cylinder music box contains a hidden set of bells and a drum, providing a wonderful depth of sound. Drums and bells were introduced in cylinder music boxes around 1850 to give these wonderful music makers a more orchestral sound. They are highly sought after by collectors, especially fine, quality examples such as this. Excellent, working condition with superb, crisp sound.
