An outstanding silver soup tureen created by English silversmith James Young, crafted in an elegant and well-balanced boat form. An exquisite example of Georgian silver artistry, this tureen is graced with chased gadroon bands around the rim and foot and two reeded handles. The coat-of-arms of the Wilson family is engraved with great skill on the tureen's body within a ribbon-tied drapery mantle, while an urn finial tops the sophisticated design.
