A phenomenal bronze-mounted mahogany parlor suite in the Renaissance Revival style by noted New York cabinet makers Pottier and Stymus. The suite, exquisitely upholstered in pale yellow damask, features doré bronze mounts of Egyptian busts and classic Renaissance Revival gilt decoration. The sofa is also adorned with a Greco-Roman inspired bronze medallion at the crown.This extraordinary set, by one of the late 19th century's most famous firms, is indeed a rare and marvelous find. A similar parlor suite is part of the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
