This extraordinary presentation silver soup tureen by Paul Storr is a striking example of Georgian craftsmanship by the legendary silversmith. Executed in a distinguished Neoclassical form this footed tureen features acanthus leaves ending in lion's paws. Elaborate handles end in foliate joins and the rim is adorned with an egg-and-dart border and the domed cover with a central band of gadrooning. The finial has an acanthus base and a reeded handle with applied grapes. The body of the tureen is engraved with a coat-of-arms. 

Paul Storr continues to be one of history's most important artisans, and resplendent works such as this tureen are difficult to obtain and highly collectible. This tureen stands as a testament as to why Storr is counted as one of the great Georgian silversmiths.
