A wonderful Old Paris porcelain veilleuse of a marquise with a dog. These wonderful porcelain wares were once used for keeping drinks and foods warm for those who were bed ridden. A similar veilleuse is pictured on page 135 of Harold Newman's book, Veilleuses, A Collector's Guide. Excellent condition. Circa 1840.
