A lovely Mettach beer stein by Villeroy & Boch of Germany, depicting jockeys. The image on the porcelain lid is of a jockey's riding helmet. This beautiful .5 liter stein retains its original pewter thumb hinge which is in the shape of a horse's head and is in excellent condition.
The stein bears the incised Mettlach abbey mark above the form number "1733" and the date mark of "00" for the year 1900.
