This fine Mettlach beer stein by Villeroy & Boch of Germany is a tribute to a fallen soldier, etched with a scene of an army marching into battle. Below the scene is the caption "Jch hatt einen Kameraden" or "I had a Comrade." The pewter lid is graced with an eagle overlooking a medallion of a soldier. Excellent condition.
The stein bears the Mettlach incised abbey mark above the form number "2833E" and the date number "03" for the year 1903. The stein is marked "1/2L" capacity.
