A fine Mettlach beer stein by Villeroy & Boch of Germany, bearing the inscription: "Am Brunnen vor dem Thore Dasteht ein Lindenbaum," or "At the well in front of the gate stands a linden tree." The stein is marked "1/2L" capacity and is in excellent condition.
The stein bears the incised Mettlach abbey mark above the form number "2833A" and the date mark of "03" for the year 1903.
