This stunning industrial clock is crafted in the form of a horizontal grist mill. Crafted of silvered and gilt bronze, this intriguing instrument combines a spring-wound, silvered dial clock and aneroid barometer within its dual-barreled design, as well as the separate mechanism for the working mill. In addition, two thermometers, both Centigrade, are attached to either side. Industrial clocks, such as this, incorporating precision timekeeping with mechanically-inspired figural automaton, are extremely popular with collectors. Set upon a pedestal of red marble, this stunning design fully celebrates the advances made in French engineering during the 19th century, and remains in excellent working condition.
