Exquisitely designed and decorated, this monumental rosewood and ormolu palace table is beautifully embellished with the finest Sèvres porcelain depicting Louis XVI and high ranking ladies of his court. Shown in all his regal finery, the king is hand-painted on a large inset plaque, while portraits of such renowned ladies as Marie Antoinette and the Princesse de Lamballe grace 17 surrounding plaques. Cast bronze ormolu of the highest quality frames each plaque and adorns the table from swag and foliate openwork aprons to the scrolling Neoclassical supports. Set on a triangular base on caster feet, this exceptional table conjures all the opulence of the French court. Excellent condition.
