This complete and all-original suite of Louis Vuitton luggage is an incredibly rare reminder of the elegance and sophistication of a bygone era. Boasting the iconic "LV" monogram, these graduated suitcases were made together for use by a couple, and are fully outfitted with their original hardware to facilitate the most meticulous packing. Three of the five cases are fitted with their hangers and screens to keep clothing wrinkle-free, and two of these feature their removable fitted trays for multi-layered storage. To find an original suite of period luggage by this famed company, in such excellent and complete condition, attests to the superior quality and craftsmanship synonymous with Louis Vuitton.
Louis Vuitton is considered the world's first luxury company, and its luggage and leather goods set the standard by which all others are measured. To own a piece of Louis Vuitton luggage has always meant to be one of the luckiest of travelers. Since opening its doors in 1854, the company has consistently created the finest travel cases available. Luxurious and sturdy, Louis Vuitton trunks were also innovative. They were the first to have flat tops, which mean they could be stacked easily in cargo, and when Louis' son Georges created the Monogram Canvas in 1896, this iconic design became the first designer logo.
The luggage features original owners' initials "MBW" and "EBW," and original manufacturer's label. Hardware, hangers and leather pulls are all original and bear Louis Vuitton marks.
