A magnificent late 18th-century Dutch wall clock, or stoelklok (chair clock), elaborately embellished with colorful hand-painted decoration and gilded fretwork. The movement strikes on the hour and half-hour on a single bell. A hand-painted maritime scene decorates the center of the dial and the wall support is also lavishly painted with flowers. It is rare to find an 18th-century stoelklok in such excellent, working condition.
