This wonderful three-piece jardinière garniture by French sculptor Mathurin Moreau is crafted of patinated and gilt bronze with etched and applied decorations. Each piece is signed "M. Moreau" Circa 1900 Centerpiece: 13" diameter x 12" highVases: 8" diameter x 19 1/2" high Moreau studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and exhibited at the Salon beginning in 1848. Moreau earned various awards and was appointed to the prestigious position of Officer of the Légion d'Honneur in 1885. During his long career, Moreau received numerous public commissions for statues and monuments that can be found throughout Paris, including a monument to Belgian inventor Zénobe Gramme at Père Lachaise cemetery.
