This exceptional walking stick bears a beautifully chided, 10K gold knob handle, and almost certainly once belonged to Proctor D. Patrick, whose name is intricately etched into the handle's surface. Set upon an ebonized shaft, this cane is the essence of elegance.
Patrick, with his business partner Edwin A. Steinbock, was prosecuted by the United States government in 1908 for delivering misbranded vanilla extract from Ohio to Indiana. The partners pled guilty and were fined $5.00.
