These French carriage or coach pistols would have kept the early 19th-century traveler safe on long trips. Crafted by Baucheron of Paris, these fine percussion pistols feature  "over and under" double-barrels covered in rich engraving. The dual trigger mechanism is fascinating, as each barrel is opperated by a separate trigger. The ramrods are connected to the bottom of the barrel and will never be misplaced due to a hinge that allows for easy use. The walnut stocks are carved with an intricate crosshatch pattern, and each terminate with a hinged end cap that allows for the storage of extra bullets.
