This gorgeous Jasper sewing étuiis a work of proficient French artistry. The compact case is equipped with a button on the front that when pressed releases the top of the étuiand reveals an assortment of letter writing and other household tools. Crafted of magnificent jasper accented with flawless gilt metal trim in an ornate Rococo design, this delicate box contains a folding scissors, an ivory straight edge, a pencil and a pocket knife with a decorative handle. Each tool fits snugly into a fitted compartment. A sparkling diamond adorns the push button latch. A charming étui, such as this one may have been kept in the pockets of a household apron or suspended, along with keys or a watch, from a chatelaine, or decorative belt worn by the housekeepers and mistresses of large, fashionable households.
