Classic mahogany and supple leather are combined in this handsome pair of French bergère arm chairs. The chairs are enhanced by a classically inspired acanthus leaf motif, scrolled arms and beautifully carved legs ending in brass caps. The term bergère refers to a canework winged armchair and this pair is a superb interpretation of this 18th-century design. Circa 1880
