This delicate porcelain butter pat dish exhibits the iconic Flora Danica pattern by the Royal Copenhagen porcelain manufactory. Adorned with intricate hand-painting and reticulated gilded edging, the dish exhibits a unique botanical specimen, the trademark of this beloved pattern.

Butter pats were always used in the formal table settings of well-to-do Victorians, as well as on the tables of royalty. First made in the mid-1800s, they reached the height of popularity between 1880 and 1910, and were made by some of the most elite porcelain houses in the world. Today, very few companies make them, and they are some of the most sought-after dinner service items on the market.

Features Royal Copenhagen marks.

Dated 1953

3 1/8" diameter
