Painted en grisaille against a sky blue background, the intricate, gilt-accented decorations are characteristically classical in design, from the shells and acanthus scrolls to the plaque of cupids fishing on the casket's lid. Lined with scarlet velvet on the interior and edged with elegant molding, this casket is simply stunning.
