These luxurious brass five-light wall sconces reflect the organic yet classic style prevalent in Napoleon III-era France. Growing from a central column, the arms are draped in large and lifelike acanthus leaves, which in turn support the beaded cups and frosted flower-like shades. These sconces are among the finest light fixtures created during the second half of the 19th century, for French artisans of the period are noted for their innovative designs and techniques in lighting. Excellent condition, and wired for electricity. Circa 1880 28 ½" wide x 18 ½" high
