Egyptian Art Deco Chandelier
- Item No.
This elegant and chic Art Deco chandelier displays a fabulous, geometric Egyptian motif. Crafted of brushed nickel & frosted glass, the light features a hexagonal center globe from which three arms branch, decorated with a stylized leaf motif and bearing lotus-shaped shades. A reaction to WWI, the Art Deco movement embraced the standards opulence, quality and functionality, ideals that influenced furniture and fashion worldwide. Though the movement was an expression of the progressive and forward-thinking attitudes of the Machine Age, this eclectic style was greatly influenced by the so-called "primitive" arts of Africa and Ancient Egypt. Translating these organic themes into streamlined, mathematical shapes is one of the most well-known signatures of this striking design aesthetic. Circa 1920 36" high x 30" diameter
