A work of mechanical art by one of the most celebrated German clockmakers of the 20th century, Erwin Sattler. Combining modern technology and traditional craftsmanship, this clock, although appearing minimalist in style, is in fact a highly engineered precision pendulum, designed to last for centuries to come. Equipped with a Strasser free escapement, the pendulum is supplied with the same force on every swing, every second, regardless of changes in air pressure, temperature and friction. The timepiece will accurately run for 30 days with a deviation of less than one second per month.

Taking the clockmaker over two years to complete, the movement boasts such fine details as gold plated brass parts, jeweled bearings, and carefully milled wheel centers. The Brequet style hands were heated with a gas flame until they turned a shiny blue color, just another beautiful accent to this fine clock. The wood used to make the wall mount case was dried two years to discourage warping and it is sealed with 13 layers of varnish to ensure a fine finish. Inspired by his grandfather and master clockmaker Heinrich Sattler, who was awarded for his perpetual calendar design in 1903, Erwin Sattler opened Erwin Sattler München in 1958. His daughter Stephanie now runs the company, continuing the family tradition of technical innovation, elegance and quality.
