This mother bear is not happy with her mischievous cub, which has climbed just out of her reach on this delightful Black Forest oak hall tree. Each bear is finely carved and beautifully illustrates the intricate artistry of the Black Forest style. Featuring a mirror framed by branches and a place for canes and umbrellas makes this piece the perfect addition to any entryway.

Originating in Switzerland in the mid-1800s, Black Forest is a distinctive European style that exemplifies traditional Swiss folk traditions. This exciting style deftly incorporates lifelike flora and fauna of the forest into items such as benches, hall trees and chairs as well as smaller items like clocks, wall hangings and other objets d'art. Expertly detailed, this stand is a superior illustration of this fine art. A very similar stand is pictured in Black Forest Bears: Swiss Wood Carvings 1870-1920.
