This wonderful child's chair encapsulates the charm of John Henry Belter's American Rococo Revival style in a smaller package. One of Belter's rarest and most exciting pieces, this chair is perfectly proportioned for a child's body, and features all the hallmarks of the celebrated artisan's excellent craftsmanship and design, such as a laminated serpentine back, an intricately carved open musical book and oak leaves at its crest, and delicate floral accents gracing the legs and apron. Crafted of Belter's signature rosewood and set upon backswept cabriole legs with original casters, this chair exemplifies Belter's tremendous skill and innovation as an artist.
