This enchanting vase by the renowned Irish firm of Belleek is crafted of the finest translucent porcelain. Called a Ribbon Vase, its classically inspired, molded form is both organic and sophisticated. Gentle beading and a ruffled lip are the perfect complements to the hand-crafted, lifelike flowers applied to the vase's full body. A similar vase is featured in Belleek: The Complete Collector's Guide and Illustrated Reference by Richard K. Degenhardt.

Belleek has been known for the exceptional quality of its porcelain and fine detail of its patterns since its founding in 1858. Initially starting with domestic products, it wasn't until 1863 that small amounts of the Parian porcelain for which Belleek is still famous, was successfully produced. By 1865, the prestige of the company had increased enough that its market included Ireland, England, the United States, Canada and Australia, with Queen Victoria, the Prince of Wales, and other members of the nobility as clients. Porcelain by Belleek was shown publicly for the first time at the Dublin Exhibition of 1872, where their display was the largest in the English and Irish industrial areas. At the Paris Exhibition of 1900, the company won a gold medal for its monumental International Centre Piece, which today stands in the foyer of the Belleek Visitors Centre.
