A truly unique design of fine-cut American Brilliant Period Cut Glass. This decanter has a wonderful and rare shape not often found in American Brilliant Cut Glass. The bell- shaped lower body and tight waist raise to a trumpet shaped neck with a flat topped stopper. The elegant handle is another unique addition to the design. The pattern consists of strawberry diamond, hobstar and fan motifs deep-cut into the body of the piece. During the American Brilliant period (1876-1917) cut glass from America was recognized as the world's most sophisticated and elegant. Pieces such as this decanter are marvelous examples of this turn of the century glass, highly regarded for its clarity and brilliance.
