Creamy ivory mimics alabaster marble in this exceptional Austrian nude figure. Reminiscent of ancient Greco-Roman sculpture, this figure depicts a beautiful woman draped with a garland of flowers, and set upon a pedestal bearing an intricately hand-painted enamel panel showing scenes from mythology. Ivory was one of the world's most luxurious and coveted materials, and this figure, incorporating the renowned Austrian enameling, would have been created for only the most affluent patron.
