This amazing Austrian Art Nouveau figure takes the form of a stunning topless dancer playing the cymbals. Crafted of the elegant combination of known as chryselephantine, this enchanting figure recalls the work of master Art Nouveau sculptors Chiparus and Ernst Seger, with its intricate beauty, delicate opal accents, and the captivating sense of movement. Art Nouveau, an avant-garde style that emerged in the early 1890s, received widespread popularity almost simultaneously in Britain, France, Germany, Austria, Denmark, and America. The movement celebrated natural beauty with fluid lines, asymmetrical decorations and exotic subject matter. This outstanding figure, set upon a marble base, combines all of these hallmarks to form a work that is at once vibrant and elegant.
