A rare and spectacular agate and silver box decorated with vernis Martin, a technique developed by the Martin brothers in Paris, varnishers to King Louis XV, to imitate the lacquers of the Far East in 1748. The highly detailed figural and architectural scenes cover each side of this treasured antique. Excellent condition.
