This rare and educational set brings the world's most famous diamonds within reach. Comprising accurate glass models of 15 of history's most amazing gems, this set beckons the viewer to take a close look at the cut, color and clarity of diamonds that rulers and aristocrats have owned and fought over throughout the centuries. The replicas include the Shah Diamond, once owned by the builder of the Taj Mahal, the old and new cuts of the renowned Koh-i-noor, which now resides as part of the Crown Jewels of England, the cursed Hope, now safely housed in the Smithsonian Institute, as well as the Pasha of Egypt, Orloff, Piggot, Polar Star, Sancy, Florentine, Grand-Mogul, Nassak, Jubilee, Regent and South-Star diamonds. All resting in a fitted and labeled presentation case, this set also includes a copy of Famous Diamonds of the World by Robert M. Shipley and is an object of considerable charm and curiosity.
