This important Tiffany & Co. sterling tea and coffee service exhibits the classic English King pattern. Comprised of a hot water kettle, coffee pot, tea pot, creamer, waste bowl, and a sugar bowl with a lid, a refined and elegant service such as this would have been an essential piece in upper class homes as a symbol of wealth and sophistication. The service is accompanied by a tray crafted by International Silver in the Lord Robert pattern, and a mixer of Swedish silver, and each piece is adorned with a set of beautifully engraved initials.
The great increase in the popularity of the afternoon tea party and coffee hour in America made larger, more formal services common. Considered one of Tiffany's most elegant patterns, English King continues to be the company's most desired. An interpretation of a beloved English design, this sublime motif has also proven to be one of Tiffany's most enduring.
All pieces are marked "Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver" with pattern numbers and the date letter "M" for Edward C. Moore.
