This extraordinary pair of French Louis XVI-style gilt and patina bronze candelabras deftly exhibit the Neoclassical taste of the late 18th century. These monumental six-light candelabra are figured as scantily clad cherubs seated on a reeded column, each holding aloft a cornucopia from which issue three eagle’s-head scrolled branches with berried cast nozzles, and another three draped with cast bronze acanthus leaves. Elevated on a rouge griotte marble square base, these exceptional lights beautifully express the exuberance of the Louis XVI period with outstanding grace and artistry.
