Set within a wood and beveled glass casing, this rare and exceptional torsion clock features a 400-day movement driven by a weighted disk known as a torsion pendulum. Decorated with five spokes, this wheel is suspended by a thin wire called a torsion spring. As the wheel rotates about the vertical axis of the wire, it twists it, building force. This force reverses the direction of rotation, compelling the torsion pendulum to oscillate slowly, clockwise and counterclockwise.
