Displaying a shape rarely seen in Old Paris porcelain, these vases incorporate fantastic elements such as child-like satyr figures sitting atop the elegant scrolled handles. Exquisitely hand-painted floral and figural scenes adorn each side of the urns, while Rococo-inspired, gilt-painted accents are beautifully complemented by a turquoise background. Set upon matching pedestals, the urns are also distinctive in their substantial size. Old Paris porcelain was made in and around Paris from 1770 into the 1870s, by any one of the small French porcelain factories that opened in response to the demand for fine porcelain.
