An outstanding pair of Sèvres covered vases each featuring the rich cobalt blue ground made famous by the Sèvres porcelain manufactory. Exquisitely crafted of fine porcelain with luxurious bronze doré mounts, the vases display a fascinating and well-balanced mix of figural and decorative painting. Each features two beautifully hand-painted cartouches, depicting courting couples and ancient chateaux, surrounded by an intricate design of raised gilt painted decoration. Monumental in size and execution, these vases are stunning examples of fine 19th-century porcelain, and it is extremely rare to find a matched pair. Excellent condition.
