An extraordinary Regency silver-gilt centerpiece and plinth crafted by Paul Storr, featuring the crest of the Baron Monson of Burton, Lincolnshire. This beautiful centerpiece exhibits the masterfully executed casting and chasing for which his more ornate works are so prized. The acorn and leaf motif, in particular, is similar to those Storr imparted on a salver now housed in the famed Gilbert Collection at Somerset House.

The interior of the vessel is engraved with the Monson crest and the plinth features the family armorial with the motto “Prest Pour Mon Pais” (“Ready for My Country”).
