On this stunning Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre pillar vase, displaying the fiery
Torches pattern, two torches light the way along a curving stairway to a shining white palace, while a dragon-headed snake inches up a tree toward a nest of helpless birds. Designed by the incomparable Daisy Makeig-Jones, Fairyland Lustre is among the finest porcelain created by the renowned Wedgwood company. Fairyland Lustre wares were well received and the range of works produced during the 1920s was remarkable. Makeig-Jones retired in 1931, ending the reign of Fairyland Lustre. Today, these works are extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors. Excellent condition.
